Your document is read and written by the page on your own device; there is no document-upload endpoint in the core tools, no account, no watermark and no daily cap. Is iLovePDF safe?
Short answer: yes, for most documents. iLovePDF is a real company with a published privacy policy and a large user base. iLovePDF processes files on its servers. You upload a document, their infrastructure does the work, and the file is deleted after a retention window described in their privacy policy.
Their retention policy is theirs to keep — the point is that a policy is only needed because the file travels. A menu or a public form can travel freely. A signed contract, a payslip, a folder of scans for a visa application: many people would rather no copy ever existed anywhere else, however briefly.

Where each one fits
