What is UnboundPDF?
UnboundPDF is a free, privacy-first browser PDF toolkit at unboundpdf.com. Documents are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded.
Is UnboundPDF free?
Yes. Every tool is available without an account, subscription, hourly cap, or watermark on the downloaded result.
Is UnboundPDF safe, and are my files uploaded?
UnboundPDF processes documents locally in your browser and has no document-upload API for the tools. You can inspect the Network panel yourself using the published PDF Privacy Lab. As with any document software, keep your browser and device secure and avoid unknown or malicious files.
Is UnboundPDF an Adobe Acrobat alternative?
It is a free browser-based alternative for common jobs such as editing supported text, merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, redacting, and OCR. It does not claim every advanced desktop or enterprise Acrobat feature and is not affiliated with Adobe.
Does UnboundPDF remove DRM or copyright protection?
No. UnboundPDF is a PDF editing and document utility platform. It does not provide DRM-removal or copyright-circumvention tools.
What is the Workspace?
A page where you add a document once and run any of the tools on it in sequence. Each run makes a named copy you can preview or download, the next tool can start from any copy or the original, and a Document Passport records each step with the SHA-256 of its output.
Can I go back to the original after editing?
Yes. Copies do not overwrite the original or each other. Pick the original — or any earlier copy — as the source for the next tool, and the later copies stay available.
