UnboundPDF is a free collection of PDF tools that run entirely in your web browser. Merge, split, convert, compress, edit, sign, protect, OCR — every tool works on your device, without uploading your files anywhere.
What it is
A complete PDF toolkit you can use without installing anything, creating an account, or paying. Open a tool, drop in your file, get your result. The work happens in your browser using well-tested open-source libraries, so your document is processed right where it already is — on your computer or phone.

Why we built it
Most "free" online PDF tools ask you to upload your document to a server you know nothing about — often the very documents that are most sensitive: contracts, IDs, medical forms, financial statements. We think that is backwards. Modern browsers are powerful enough to do this work locally, so the private thing to do is keep your file on your device. That is the whole idea behind UnboundPDF:
Your documents are processed locally in your browser. UnboundPDF does not receive or store their contents.
You do not have to take our word for it. Because everything runs on your side, you can open your browser's developer tools and watch the Network tab while you use a tool — your document is never sent.
What it isn't
We would rather be honest than oversell. UnboundPDF is:
- Not a cloud service — there is no account, no storage, and no syncing. When you close the tab, nothing of yours remains with us.
- Not affiliated with Adobe — PDF is an open standard (ISO 32000); we are an independent project.
- Not magic — some files are damaged, unusual, or very large, and a browser-based tool has limits. Conversions and OCR are best-effort, and large files lean on your device's memory. Always check the result.
