A log of every redaction, verified on the final bytes.
Redaction Log takes a PDF redacted with Redact PDF — and, optionally, the original — and produces a log as PDF and CSV: every redaction region by page, whether the text underneath is gone in the final bytes, any page that could not be fully cleared, and the SHA-256 of each document it examined. It reuses the redaction engine's own verification rather than re-implementing it. Without the original, the log can say no text remains under a mark, not what was removed.
Redaction Log builds the record that accompanies a redacted document: every redaction mark listed by page and position, whether extractable text still sits under it, and a SHA-256 of each document examined. If you supply the original as well, the log states — checked on the bytes that will be delivered — whether the removed text survives anywhere in the redacted file.

How to use Redaction Log
- Add the redacted PDF. Add the original too if you have it; that is what lets the log say what was removed.
- Name the matter and, if you want it on the record, the person preparing the log.
- Decide whether the removed text itself should be printed on the log. It is left off by default, because a log is often filed.
- Click Build the redaction log, then download the log PDF and the matching CSV.
Good to know: Verifies the delivered bytes; without the original it cannot say what was removed.

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. UnboundPDF processes PDFs locally in the browser — documents are not uploaded to a server. We have no backend that receives, stores, or scans your files.
Do I need the original document?
No, but it changes what the log can say. Without it, the log records each mark and whether text remains under it. With it, the log can name what was removed and check the delivered bytes for it.
How is the check performed?
By the same raw-byte scan Redact PDF uses to decide its own result: every stream in the delivered file is decompressed and every object's text strings are collected, then each removed run is searched for in several encodings.
Why is a SHA-256 on the log?
So the log names the exact bytes it examined. A different copy of the file produces a different hash, which makes it clear when a log belongs to a different version.
Will the removed text appear on the log?
Only if you ask for it. By default the log records how many characters were found rather than the characters themselves, because a redaction log is often filed alongside the document.
What does it do if a page cannot be read?
It names that page and says it could not be fully checked. A page it could not read is never reported as clear.
Is this legal advice or a certification?
No. It is a record of what was measured on these bytes, and the log says so on its own last page.
