How to use Passport Photo
- Drop a portrait photo in; it is read on your device and never uploaded.
- Pick the size — ICAO 35 × 45 mm, US 2 × 2 in, India 35 × 45 or 51 × 51 mm, UK, Schengen, China 33 × 48 mm, a stamp size, or your own measurements in millimetres.
- Drag and zoom the photo until the top of the head sits inside the dashed guide band and the chin rests on the lower line.
- Choose 300 or 600 DPI, JPG or PNG, and the background colour the preset states.
- Optionally tick the print sheet, then download the photo — and the sheet as a PDF with cut marks.
Good to know: Produces the stated size, resolution and head-height band for each preset; it does not check whether a photo will be accepted and is not affiliated with any passport or visa authority.

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. UnboundPDF processes PDFs locally in the browser — documents are not uploaded to a server. We have no backend that receives, stores, or scans your files.
Which passport photo sizes are included?
ICAO/international 35 × 45 mm, United States 2 × 2 in, India 35 × 45 mm and 51 × 51 mm, United Kingdom 35 × 45 mm, Schengen visa 35 × 45 mm, China 33 × 48 mm, stamp sizes 20 × 25 mm and 25 × 35 mm, and a custom size in millimetres.
Does the file really carry the DPI, or just the pixels?
It carries the resolution. A JPG is written with its JFIF density fields set to the chosen DPI and a PNG with a pHYs chunk, so a print shop reproduces the picture at the millimetre size the preset states rather than guessing.
Will my photo be accepted?
This tool produces a photo at the size and resolution the preset states and draws the head-height band published for that size. It does not check expression, lighting, glasses, headwear or background quality, and it cannot promise that any authority will accept a photo. Acceptance is decided by the office you send it to.
Is there a face detector?
Where your browser provides one of its own, the tool uses it to place the head in the guide band; that detector runs on your device and downloads nothing. Where the browser has none — which is most browsers today — you align the photo to the guides by hand, and the tool says so instead of pretending to have detected anything.
Can I change the background colour?
The preset's background colour is painted behind the photo. If your photo has no transparent background the colour sits behind opaque pixels and the picture does not change — run it through Remove Background first, then bring the cut-out back here.
What is the print sheet?
A PDF sized as a 4 × 6 in photo print or A4, filled with as many copies as fit, each with cut marks in the gutter so nothing is printed across a face. The result tells you how many copies landed on how many sheets.
