Is PDFgear safe?
Short answer: yes, for most documents. PDFgear is a real company with a published privacy policy and a large user base. PDFgear offers free desktop applications alongside online tools; the online tools upload files for processing.
PDFgear's desktop apps keep files local; its online tools upload them. If you are choosing the web route for convenience, the question becomes whether convenience has to cost transmission — a browser-local tool is the case that it does not.
