How to edit PDF text in your browser
Edit existing PDF text locally — in the document’s own font — without uploading. Free UnboundPDF editor walkthrough.
- Open the PDF Editor and drop your file (or try the sample).
- Choose Text, then click a paragraph you want to change.
- Retype the text. UnboundPDF re-sets it in the document’s embedded font when that is safe.
- Use Undo if needed, then Save PDF — the download stays on your device.
Nothing is uploaded. The file is read into your browser’s memory and the result downloads from the same tab.
When editing works best
True text PDFs (contracts, letters, invoices with a real text layer) edit cleanly. Scanned pages need OCR first so there is text to select. When a font cannot be rewritten safely, the editor tells you instead of substituting silently.
Honest limits
Complex multi-column layouts and unusual encodings can refuse a rewrite. That is intentional — better a clear message than a silently broken page.
