From a phone photo to a straight, searchable, small PDF — four steps on the phone

Convert photos of documents to a searchable PDF in your browser: JPG to PDF, deskew, OCR in 126 languages, compress — on the phone that took them.

UnboundPDF is a free suite of 54 PDF and image tools that run entirely in your browser — merge, split, compress, edit text, OCR in 126 languages, redact, sign, convert and archive to PDF/A. Your document is read and written by the page on your own device; there is no document-upload endpoint in the core tools, no account, no watermark and no daily cap. Every result can be checked — with the Network tab, or with the Document Passport the Workspace writes for a chain of steps.

Quick start. JPG to PDF (all the photos at once) → in the Workspace: Deskew → OCR → Compress → Download. Save it as a recipe for next time.

Photograph it well

Flat surface, even light, the page filling the frame, the phone parallel to the page. One photo per page, in order. Each photo is several megapixels — the final step will take care of that.

Everything described above runs the same way: the document processed in the browser tab, never sent to a server.

Pages, then straight

JPG to PDF makes one PDF from all the photos in order at their own resolution. Deskew measures each page's lean and rotates it back — OCR reads straight lines far better.

Recognise

OCR PDF writes a searchable text layer under the photos in the document's language (126, auto-detected); the per-page confidence tells you which page to re-photograph if one is poor.

Shrink

Balanced compression brings a dozen photos down to an email-sized file while keeping the OCR text; the result panel shows the real size.

Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android

Built for the phone that took the photos; works the same on a computer with the photos copied over.
