The duplex tax
Feed forty single-sided sheets through a duplex scanner and you get eighty pages, half of them nothing. The file is heavier, review is slower, page counts lie, and your bookkeeping archive fills with paper-coloured megabytes.
Measured, not guessed
Every page's ink is measured inside a margin-inset region — scanner edge shadows don't count — against that page's own paper tone. Clearly blank pages come pre-ticked; borderline ones are listed with their percentage and deliberately left unticked, because a pencil note or a faint stamp measures low, and that is precisely the page you want to look at before it goes. The threshold slider re-flags live; removal only ever reads your ticks.

Troubleshooting
A blank page wasn't flagged. It carries more ink than it looks — a scanner streak or heavy bleed-through; raise the threshold a step and watch the live re-flag. Every page got flagged. Ticking all pages is refused by name — check the scan isn't inverted or empty. The survivors look untouched. They are — copied, not re-encoded.
